Garry started his career with Australia Post in 1972 continuing until 2000. During that period he held many senior management positions including Area Postal Manager with budgetary responsibility of in excess of 50 million per annum and line control of 250 staff. In 1995 Garry was seconded by the Licensed Post Office Group to establish an Area Postal Managers office to specialise in the management of Licensed Post Offices within the Sydney Metropolitan area.
Garry completed a Master of Business Administration degree "M.B.A." in 1996 at the University of Western Sydney. He has also completed a Business Management Certificate at the Australian Institute of Management in 1991 along with many other retail and finance orientated management courses.
After leaving Australia Post Garry established Tarshay Pty Ltd "Business Brokers" specialising in the sale of Licensed Post Offices within N.S.W. The Brokerage business has gone through a significant growth cycle in the first four years of operation with Tarshay Pty Ltd now looking to diversify its business operations into reselling franchises that are predominately domiciled in Shopping Centres.
Garry was a keen sportsman having played Rugby League at the elite level representing Eastern Suburbs and South Sydney Rugby Leagues Clubs between 1976 & 1985.
Philip Briggs - Business Advisor
After a highly successful career spanning 28 years with the National Australia Bank Philip joined the business in January 2003. He was as an Area Manager in charge of 18 retail outlets with staffing in excess of 200. His responsibilities included growing the asset and liability book, human resource management and was fully accountable for the business unit's profitability. Philip has a proven record in change management in a diverse marketplace.
Philip has had 15 years commercial and personal lending experience dealing with small to medium business enterprises and franchise groups. During this period he saw a number of economic cycles, which allowed him to guide business customers through difficult and good times. Philip has combined this lending experience into owning and operating two successful Licensed Post Offices. He has an appreciation of small business from an operational, management and sales perspective.
